This is the recipe for real German potato salad as made in Bavaria.
Note, some people add bacon and pour a little of the bacon grease over the potato salad.
Boil the potatoes till done. I just put the potatoes in a pot of cold water turn the stove on high and set the timer for 30 minutes. While the potatoes are boiling prepare the dressing in a small bowl. You will want the potatoes to still be as hot as possible when you pour the mixture over them. When the potatoes are cooked peel * and slice them. Mix the dressing in and serve.
* I don't actually bother peeling most of the skins off. It just seems like needless work since people eat the skins in baked/stuffed potatoes anyway. Why should it be different here?
